Kratom May Have Therapeutic Effects
Rather than turning to sugary drinks and energy shots to boost their energy, many people are looking for natural supplements. One option gaining popularity is Royal Kratom Gold Tincture, which is a particular kind of liquid kratom extract.
Kratom is a product of the genus mitragyna speciosa, which describes several species of trees native to Southern Asia. Leaves from these trees contain psychoactive chemicals that can be released when chewed or distilled.
Use of kratom for medicinal treatment has a long history among the people of Asia, even though it’s just beginning to be recognized in the United States. Each strain produces different effects and is therefore used to treat different ailments.
Royal Kratom Gold Tincture is an extract made from the Maeng Da kratom strain. Maeng Da is known for its potency and beneficial effects, such as:
- Energy boosts
- Mood lifting
- Pain relief
One of Maeng Da’s greatest strengths is its versatility. At low doses, it can bolster energy, similar to caffeine. When taken at higher doses, the effects are more sedating and can help soothe anxiety or relieve stress.

Natural herb Kratom may have therapeutic effects and relatively low potential for abuse or harm, according to a user survey by Johns Hopkins Medicine.
From a study of 2,700 Kratom users, the psychoactive compound similar to opioids, likely has a lower rate of harm than prescription opioids.
Of the 2,798 participants in the online survey, 91% used Kratom to alleviate pain a couple times a day, 65% for anxiety and 65% for depression. Additionally, 41% of participants also reported they have been using Kratom to treat opiate withdrawal and 35% stated they had been clean for 1 or more years.
As a part of the survey, participants also completed a Substance Use Disorder Symptom checklist to see if they could be classified as having a substance use disorder. Fewer than 3% of participants could be classified as having moderate or severe substance use with Kratom, but 13% met some criteria for substance use disorder. This is compared to the 8-12% of prescribed opioid abusers who became dependent, according to the National Institute for Drug Abuse.
The American Kratom Association estimates that there are 10-16 million regular users of Kratom in the U.S. who ingest either by eating chewing the leaves, eating ground leaves in food or brewing leaves in tea.
In 2017, there were 47,000 opioid overdose deaths whereas in the same year there were fewer than 100 Kratom related deaths. There is not enough data to determine if you can overdose on Kratom or how it interacts with alcohol or other drugs.
Kratom is also not FDA approved nor is it regulated leading medical professionals to advocate for the FDA to require testing for impurities and maintaining safe levels of the active chemicals. Without regulation, we run the risk of unsafe additives and uneven dosage issues. With this said, it is best to err on the side of caution and do not mix Kratom with anything else and speak with your doctor before taking the supplement.
